Ordinal Numbers
We use ordinal numbers to say the position of someone or something in relation to the position of someone or something else.
Ana was first (1st), Maria was second (2nd) and Suzy was third (3rd).
We also use ordinal numbers to say the date.
My birthday is on the 7th of October.
Today is the 21st of January.

Past Simple REGULAR Verbs
All regular verbs end in -ed in the past simple and past participle affirmative but as usual there are some
rules.
Most of the time we just add -ed.
Want Wanted
Wash Washed
Listen Listened
However, when the verb ends in -e we just add -d
Live Lived
Love Loved
Hate Hated
When the verb ends in a consonant and the letter -y we lose the -y and add - ied.
Copy Copied
Study Studied
Tidy Tidied
When the verb ends in a vowel and the letter -y we just add -ed.
Play Played
Destroy Destroyed
Show Showed
Finally, if the verb ends in a vowel and a consonant we double the consonant before adding
-ed.
Travel Travelled

Cancel Cancelled
In Negative and Interrogative regular verbs follow the same rules as irregular
verbs in the past simple.
