Adverbs of manner
Adverbs of manner tell us how something happens. They are usually placed after the verb or after the object. Most adverbs of manner end in -ly.
- He swims well.
- He runs... rapidly, slowly, quickly..
- She speaks... softly, loudly, aggressively.
- James shouts loudly in class.

- He plays the piano beautifully.
- He eats the chocolate cake greedily.

My favourite hobby is basketball. I play basketball with my friends and I play basketball for a team on Saturdays. My team is good but we are third from bottom in the league because we are playing badly at the moment and the other teams are better than us.
I am a good basketball player because I run fast, pass beautifully, defend strongly and motivate my team well. I like basketball because it is more enjoyable than other sports and it is good exercise.
