Two Spelling Rules for -ing
1) Verbs that end in -e (make / write / drive etc) = take away the -e
Make = Making Write = Writing Drive = Driving
2) If the verb is short and ends in a vowel and a consonant we double the the last letter.
Stop = Stopping Run = Running Swim = Swimming
1. **This does not happen with any verb that ends in a vowel and (y) like play = playing**
2. **This does not happen with any verb ending in vowel vowel consonant like need = needing**
